After moving from Philadelphia, with a dream of designing graphics for television, I booked my first TV show within 2 weeks.
I know, pretty crazy, right?!
But that show was cancelled after 12 episodes and I couldn't book another one for an excruciating 9 months. It was the hardest time in my life—I became depressed, and dodged all phone calls and texts. My self worth plummeted, and I constantly questioned whether or not I deserved my dreams.
Can you relate at all? I think we all ask ourselves that question at some point during our time in Hollywood.
Now, looking back, I can see that those 9 months were a lesson. At the end, I booked the show "Glee", and my career took off from there. I'm proud to say that I've worked on 39 television shows, and a few films. I've worked on every major studio lot, and almost every major network. But none of it would have happened without those awful 9 months.
Those 9 months forced me to crack the code. It challenged me to figure out HOW to make my dreams happen, even during the darkest of times. And now, I can quickly spot why people aren't where they want to be. It's like X-RAY vision, but not quite as sexy!
It has seriously been INCREDIBLE to live out my dreams as a Graphic Designer for film and television. I want YOU to feel this incredible, too.
